7th Annual Community Program- “Green Schools, Care for Youth”

CGCC-Los Angeles’ 7th Annual Community Program focused on environmental sustainability. On December 11, with the theme of “Green Schools, Care for Youth,” CGCC-Los Angeles brought together its member companies to Carthay School of Environmental Studies Magnet, the only magnet public elementary school in Los Angeles Unified School District that combines the sciences and humanities in an educational program centered on society and the environment. Over 40 executives from 10 member companies, along with teachers and students, helped support the sustainable development of green campus and environmental protection education programs by planting trees, shrubs and vegetation.

“We are thrilled to partner with such a wonderful group of Chinese companies through the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce here in Los Angeles, it truly is an amazing opportunity for Carthay Environmental Studies School. Their support of our school’s mission to educate ecologically literate and engaged students demonstrates a real commitment to building the bridges – both locally and globally – that are necessary to sustain the health of our planet through mutual understanding and grass roots work.” Said Principal Ms.Johnson, Carthay Environmental Studies School.
